I really can't decide what to think of the 'painted' trend right now. On one hand you can do it yourself, but on the other would you really pull out a paint brush and achieve such a look? Take these Moschino Cheap and Chic painted mary jane pumps for example, all you would need is a pair of white pumps, a little red paint to draw on piping-like detail and then scribble some black paint on the heel. Sure the shoe is artsy and chic but is it worth $660? You could probably get a pair of white peep toes and paint, then DIY for less than $50.
