I seem to recall buying school shoes from River Island; penny loafers and the like that were not exactly what you'd call 'fun'. So it's interesting to see that the high street stalwart seems to do such a strong line in party shoes these days. Some are a bit overly adorned in my minimalist-tending opinion, but I do like the combination of colours and elements in this platform peep toe, which would quickly turn the glam factor of any party outfit up to 11. £73.39 at River Island
