Ugly Shoe of the Week: Rick Owens Hidden Sandals

At first I assumed this was a joke. Had to be, right? But no: these shoes are being sold on a fashion website, which seems to suggest we're actually expected to wear them. Then again, maybe the fact that they're being sold for 962 euros is the joke?

Rick Owens, I have no idea what you were thinking here, but I certainly hope it was a lot of fun...

OMG!!! I totally agree with you! In fact, when I saw Rick Owens' entire spring fashion collection/catwalk photo spread in the big, fat spring collection issue of Vogue while at the hairdresser, I nearly threw up all over my drape. The models all looked disgustingly ill, the clothing way too weird and unflattering, and the footwear, well... exactly what YOU said.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you somewhat. The idea behind Rick Owens as I'm sure you know is avant-grande 'elegance tinged with...barbaric' with particular focus on items that drag along the ground and the luxury of not caring... In particular, I love how he brings an innovative approach to fashion and design in general and I think if you look at it from that perspective, you might too.

I was thinking that one small advantage to this shoe would be to give burka-wearers a little fashion without breaking the rules?
