These shoes make me think of the sticks of rock you get at British seaside towns. I can't help it, they just do: those stripes bring to mind funfairs and sunshine, and those aren't bad things to be reminded of at all, are they? The red, white and blue colours also give them a nautical feel, making them fashionable right now, but they'll be just as fun and cheerful in a couple of years time.
