Killer socklets: the real culprit behind the Prada tumbles

socklet.jpgWe're used to shoes copping the blame every time there's a tumbling incident on a catwalk, but in a recent case of runway sickness, the prime suspects (five-inch Prada heels) were quickly vindicated by the models themselves who said it was not the shoes that had brought them rapidly down to earth but the "socklets" they'd been told to wear on their feet. So what are these specimens, and why did they cause trouble?

Socklets? They sound innocent enough, don't they. But the treacherous poplin items also made by Prada caused the shoes to slide in all directions, resulting in the potentialy ankle-breaking mayhem. This blogger, a model who herself escaped the fate of the Prada girls provided the photo of the 'spanners in the models' ambulatory works'.
