Platforms are on the way up and up. At least that is what the trend has been for much of the Fall '09 season. Adding an extra bit of drama (honestly do we need anymore?) is John Galliano. It seems that footwear is the only area where designers are allowing themselves to go a little bit crazy.
Galliano's Russian zombies were an Eastern fantasy that stretched all the way down south. Pom pom decorated platforms that laced all the way up to the knee were a sight to behold. Part cultural part clown, they held that performance element for which Galliano is synonymous. Either way they are wacky and that's why I love him.
