OK, so they're not quite Martin Margiela - in fact, I'm sure the very avant-guard Mr Margiela would be appalled to have one of his creations compared to a shoe from a budget store like Peacocks, but there's no denying these are along the same lines as the designer originals, if not exactly the same.

I'm going to contradict everything I've ever said about cut-out boots by revealing that I loved the Margiela version of these boots, and even although I'd probably never wear them, the £18 price of the Peacocks versions leaves me tempted to buy them anyway: well, it's an affordable way to try something completely different to my usual style, so why not?
