Forget gladiators, forget statement platforms, the shoe to be seen in at the moment is the, wait for it... gold ankle boot (!?) Well, it certainly seems that way considering two of the UK's hippest, hoppest (yeah, I know that's not a real word) peeps in the public eye have been seen out and about wearing them in recent times - lady-magnet Noel Fielding and The Kills' Alison Mosshart.
While not necessarily a shoe I'd be getting a lot of wear out of this summer (although, to state the obvious, in the UK you just never know do you?), it does add a certain amount of 'cool-factor' to your basic black-jeans-and-a-tee outfit. I love how Alison has also chucked on the leopard print coat for extra cool points.
