Marsèll boots: A mystery wrapped in an enigma

There are many unanswered questions in life. What came first, the chicken or the egg? Why are we here? Is there a God? Why does Donatella Versace not give the sunbeds a rest? Why did Heidi Montag/Pratt feel the need to make an album? Added to this list is now "Who the hell designed these, and why, oh, why?"

Urgh. Yuck. If you'll excuse me for being crude, it looks like they are made from human skin, and someone (maybe a giant?) has shoved on someones finger as the heel (although this has been described by Marsèll as "distinctive" and "organic shaped". Please.)

I mean really, who would want these on their feet? Not only that, but who would pay £679 to have them on their feet?
