When you can buy a pair of trendy shoes for £10 in Peacock's, it's no surprise that many of us yearn to see something a little more individual and long-lasting on our feet. But where can you find quality footwear that's truly unique?

Old-fashioned cobblers are few and far between, and ones with a working knowledge of that fashion business are even rarer. But French and English Confectioners have got the balance just right with their limited-edition runs of superbly comfortable and high quality footwear, each pair made for you.

Each shoe will be one of just 18 to 20 pairs, so if you see one you like, you have to pounce. I spotted this lovely cream and black crossover sandal for £215 on Folksy but the rest of the current range is here.
