YAY OR NAY: Boyfriend shoes

boyfriend-shoes.jpgI came close to rejecting a fair few of the shoes that landed in my inbox this week, on the grounds that they don't fit the 'women's footwear' remit of this blog. But on a second glance, these items turn out to be unisex or 'boyfriend' shoes; apparently the next big thing in footwear.

Many of them look like the sort of things we wore at school, or to jazz dance classes, but mostly they just look like old brogues from the blokes' section in Clarks. You can probably tell I'm not a fan...but what do you think?

They're super trendy right now and I've seen them look absolutely adorable on the right girls (i.e. if you're super skinny with long legs, pair them with a dress and it looks killer) but they're just a bit unflattering when I try them on. I prefer my oxford heels for menswear influenced but with sass.

I know what you mean Laura - I think they look amazing on some ladies, but at 5"1 they'd make me look like a clown :(

We'll I'm 5'2 and I have two pairs which I love, is not really about the height, is more about the attitude and feeling comfy in them I think.

I'm wearing them right now with skinny jeans a tee and a boyfriend blazer.
