These suede ankle boots by Ash are a really solid and substantial style that looks pretty indestructable to me, a serial destroyer of boots who has yet to get through a season without grinding down both heels by January. So if you also tend to need something tough, these should see you through to spring.
Practicalities aside, I really like the chocolate brown suede and think the studded straps work nicely to give the boots a harsher edge. The oversized buckles are a nod towards the piratey look being embraced by Alexander McQueen at the moment, but it's a small nod, which you may well consider a good thing!
