Heels for leggy ladies

duneromeoshoeboot2.jpgAt 5ft 4in, I'm a girl that needs heels. Not only do I need them to make me visable when heading for the bar, but they make me feel slimmer and girlier.

Saying that, I fully emphasise with taller ladies who yearn for high heels but fear they may tower over the rest of us. Whilst we may envy their supermodel height, they're eyeing up the killer pumps we're tottering about in.

Some leggy ladies, like blogger Legseleven7, ignore any height worries and quite rightly splash out on a pair of gorgeous shoe boots like the Dune Romeo boots on the right for £90. However if you don't feel confident enough to do that, we've found some shoes that still give you a little spring to your step, without adding a foot to your height!

studdedcourtimage.jpgLet's start with the trend stalking the catwalks recently, studs. Studded detail is a great way of toughening up an overly girly outfit, and doesn't just have to feature on sky high heels. These Medium Heel Court Shoes from Barratts are £22 in the sale, and also come in black. The pointed toe give them a streamlined look, despite a fairly small heel.

purple cross strap mid-2.JPGThese mid heel purple shoes are from budget brand Deichmann Shoes. Unfortunatly at the moment they don't sell their shoes through the website, but they do have 34 stores around the country, with a flagship store in Westfield. The double strap detail drew me to these, along with the chunky heel detail. Well, that and the fact that they're only £14.99!

office dollieday shoes.jpgThese Office Doillie day cream shoes are described as made of 'fondant fancy cream leather' which fits perfectly. The overall style is sweet with a vintage edge. I want to grab these, a 50's A line dress and go dancing. Old school dancing. They're £60 and come in red (very sexy señorita), black and dark grey.

Thanks for the feature. I outgrew the self-consciousness decades ago, but never learned to walk in (or suffer) high heels. I am not about to start now, because of the physical damage they wreak on the wearer. Still, I hate that my only fashionable choice seems to be ballet flats (insubstantial and not that good for your feet either). It is really hard, especially right now, to find good looking, yet sensible, shoes. I know that sounds boring, but there is a huge, untapped market.
