Hand-painted leather and lace boots
Seen from a distance, the clever Trompe L'Oeil boots look as though they're covered in balmain-style chains, but in fact they're a pair of ordinary black ankle boots that have been painted to give the appearance of lace.
They're part of a series of painted shoes by Etsy seller Scholarly Articles, who buys up vintage shoes and paints them each with an individual design, selling them in her store. There are some wonderful pieces here, including gold flats decorated with colourful Matryoshka dolls, white pumps with vibrant peacock feathers and many more. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
