Despite my reservations about trainers with heels, I have a soft spot for Pedro Garcia's 'Rizzo', which is a perfect cross between a casual shoe and smart ankle boot.
The style's been around a year or so now, but feels very current to me, perhaps due to the combination of businesslike dark colours and 'tough', utilitarian styling. It would make an ideal autumn ankle boot, and is now reduced from 40% of its original price at a tempting £126 from The Outnet
