Classic flat black boots

southwedgeboots.jpgMy love of suede shoes always takes a bit of a bashing around this time of year. They're still getting a bit of wear in the evenings, but for day to day wear they get replaced by my trusty flat black boots.

Black leather boots are up there with LBD's as a classic item every girl has to have. They don't have to cost a weeks wages or look like a biker's castsoffs either. These South Maria low wedge boots (on the right/0 from very.co.uk are only £31, and benefit from a slight wedge heel. The higher front of the boot gives a nod towards the over the knee look without going the whole hog.

Here are a couple more budget friendly flat black boots.

These Office Cassie knee boots are the classic flat boot shape, and feature vintage style leather to give it that 'lived in' look. At £95 they're not the cheapest option, but they're going to put up with a lot of wear and tear (and splashing in puddles!)

Schuh is a online store I don't often visit, mainly because I'm usually drawn to the flashiness of Office or the simplicity of Barratts. Occasionally though, I'll have a browse and discover a little gem like these Schuh Lexi Button knee boots. Falling middle of the road in terms of pricing at £59.99, its slouchy look doesn't aspire to be on trend, but ends up achieving anyway.

Finally we've got these black buckle detail flat boots from Debenhams, which will only leave you £45 out of pocket. The buckle detail brings it up to date, and they're great value for a pair of leather boots. Pull them over your jeans and pull on a vintage t-shirt for rock chick chic!
