I generally tend to think of tie-front shoes, particularly the sort that involve ribbons, as a bit school-marmish, but styles that are doing the rounds at the moment are really making me think again. Worn in the right way (perhaps with a pair of sheer, polkadot tights with a tailored skirt, I'm thinking) these styles can look fabulous, and there are plenty of good ones to choose from at all price points.
From top left, clockwise:
Pink 'Anenome' high heeled shoes by Carvela: reduced to £59 (from £100) at Debenhams.
Limited Collection studded high heeled shoes. £29.50 at Marks & Spencer
Red glossy tie-front heels, also by Marks & Spencer as above: now sold out (sadface). But there's a similar style from the Autograph range here for £45.
Venetia tie-front pumps by Rupert Sanderson: £333 at Net-a-Porter
