Shoe news: Do you remember the first shoes you bought?

prettyshoesimage.jpgAccording to a recent study, women are more likely to remember the first shoes they purchased then the name of the first person they kissed.

92% of women could remember the first pair of shoes they bought, whilst only 2 in three could remember the name of the first person they shared a smooch with.

96% of those surveyed regretted throwing out a pair of much loved shoes, whilst only 15% of those regretted dumping a boyfriend.

Another study reported that women on average had 19 pairs of shoes. 19?
Is that all?. A girl can never have too many shoes! One in six women
admit to having more than 30 pairs of shoes, and a third have trouble
actually finding somewhere to fit them all.

This study reported that women usually buy 4 pairs of shoes on average,
and one in seven woman hide their shoe purchases from their man.

Guilty. Who hasn't tried the old "oh, these? I've had them for years!" trick?

So, what about you? Can you remember your first pair of shoes? What about the name of the first person you kissed?

I keep all my shoes and so I still have the first ones I bought with my own money! They were two pairs of brightly coloured high-heeled plimsolls (with a giant white rubber block heel and platform). Sounds revolting I know, but it was 1996 and eleven-year-old me wanted to look like a Spice Girl :)

If you mean first shoes actually bought - with my own money - then I really have no idea. I suspect it was something really rather horrible from River Island: some kind of clumpy-heeled brogues I expect, which are probably now so out they're in again.

I remember the first shoes I wanted my Mum to buy me: I would have been about 8 or 9 and they were black pumps, possibly velvet with multi coloured stars all over them. I wanted them like nothing before or since and they were from (wait for it) the glamour-house that is BHS! Mum hated anything 'vulgar' so it was still plain, navy t-bars for me or nothing at this stage :(

I don't remember the first pair of shoes I bought either. Mind a complete blank. Like Abi though, I remember the first pair of shoes I wanted. The ones with the key in the bottom and the girl in the woods saying 'magic shooooes...' The first boy I kissed I do remember - with a bit of a shudder.

I believe that to meet the challenges of our times, human beings will
have to develop a greater sense of universal responsibility. Each of
us must learn to work not just for oneself, one's own family or nation,
but for the benefit of all humankind. Universal responsibility is the
key to human survival. It is the best foundation for world peace.

I am sorry I can remember my first shoes, but I can remember my favorite shoes and my best shoes in the past time. I know that women love their shoes, sandals and women's clogs in their life.
