I'm a big fan of these easy brown suede shoe boots from La Redoute, which are both rugged and stylish and would come into very good use around this time of year.
With their chunky, calf-flattering mid-heel, they'd make your jeans outfit that little bit more stylish without being out of place. I have a similar pair from Jones, and it's great to have an alternative to Converse when I'm having a casual day. This style has the advantage of being a little cheaper, and they'd also work well with leggings or thick tights. I think the brown is particularly smart, but they're available in black, too.
