Kelis steps out in Alexander McQueen 'lobster' shoes

kelis-in-alexander-mcqueen-lobster-shoes.jpgWhen Alexander McQueen introduced his crazy 'lobster' style shoes at last season's fashion weeks, a lot of us wondered who'd be brave enough to wear them.

A few style (and attention) loving celebs have now stepped in to try out the shoes, and we've had no reports of injuries yet. Lady Gaga's known to have a pair, and the latest convert is Kelis, who rocked up at the first annual Data Awards (a ceremony in LA for dance DJs and producers) wearing the McQueen footwear and a sort of scaled body suit that left little to the imagination. We've all had enough of nautical now...but is fashion really going to be taking us UNDER the sea next season?

You have to admire the ingenuity in construction and the vision, for want of a better word, of making a shoe that looks like it's about to take flight. These are statement.almost museum pieces.

I would totally wear those shoes. And I am actually in the process of gathering funds in order to buy one of the flower heeled mary janes from the S/S collection.

They are extremely painful. I got them on the mail today (They are on sale right now!) and they are the most gorgeous shoes I have worn in my life, but they are way too tall. Not sure if I'm going to keep them.
