The Brit awards is always an event where music and fashion collide, and never has the dressed-up element been so important as now we have the likes of Lady Gaga to look up to. But I was doing more looking down when I surveyed the sartorial element of the event, checking out what those minted celebs had chosen to wear from all the wonderful footwear available to them.
There's a definite lighter, brighter look going on and neon stilettos were the shoes of choice for at least two key figures. We're also seeing plenty of platforms, and it was nice to see Stella McCartney's fishscale double platform sandals, a style we've drooled over, being given a prestigious outing.

Needing a laugh? Our friends over at OSO blog have picked out their worst dressed at the BRITS. You can also admire the best dressed here.
From top left, clockwise:
Alesha Dixon wore the sunset yellow heels, a lovely classic style that we suspect Louboutin may have had a hand in. A near-identically-shaped hot pink pair were worn by Leona Lewis.
The Sugagbabes are the red carpet trio, opting for a mult-strap wedge, slate grey platforms and big buckle Mary Janes, while Kesha wore our favourite Stella McCartney fishscale platforms.
