Once again, wedges are big enough that designers can use them as a blank canvas for all manner of wonderful flights of fantasy. It's one of those trends you can easily see going horribly wrong (think jelly-bean print, or goldfish), but Bottega Veneta has done well here to incorporate a look it's already putting to excellent use in its bags: colourful weaving.
The black and red combination used here is extremely tasteful, and turns what would otherwise be a wearable-but-unremarkable pair of shoes into something that's almost deserving of that hefty price-tag.
