Acne's tower block platforms started off looking utterly insane, then became the height of hipness, before we all got used to the look and the high street got in on the act. If the trademark built-up platform is a style you like in your ankle boots (and they can be seriously useful for those of use with short legs and the odd pair of long trousers), Aldo have produced a reasonably passable budget version in their A/W 2010/11 range.
Aldo's 'Sandidge' is £90 to Acne's £355, making them a far more affordable option to most fans of the brand. While they lack the two-tone kookiness of the original style, the shoes do have an almost identical wedge shape for instant, Alexa Chung magic.
