New York Fashion Week: Versace's footwear
There seems to be a far greater emphasis on shoes at the shows these days. In the same way in which bridal footwear has gone from being something largely invisible that simply provided lift and thrust to being an integral part of the wedding wardrobe, runway footwear is really coming into its own.
Versace's clog-hybrid platforms are a colourful case in point. Tall, elegant and frighteningly sharp, they're a good indicator that killer heels are not likely to go out of style any time soon. As someone who isn't really welcoming the return of the mid or kitten heel, I have to admit I'm pleased to see this: as long as we've got our foldable flatties handy, what's to worry about? ;-)
