New York Fashion Week: shoes at the shows
The New York runways are positively buzzing with talent and innovation right now, as you'll already know if you've been following the coverage over at our sister site, Catwalk Queen. But as ever, we're looking downwards, and it's the footwear off the catwalk that has particularly caught our eye this season.
Sharp, jutting shapes are all the rage among NY's fashion elite, and there are a couple of great examples here spotted backstage. We love the exposed platforms worn with tree-trunk heels and just look at the points on those tactile, velvet wedges: it looks sharp enough to burst a balloon!
Elsewhere, 70s-style platform boots were worn tucked into denim, and thigh-high boots worn with impossibly short skirts. It's good to see so much daring and creativity among the crowd, and I really hope we'll be just as impressed when we cover shoes at the London shows in just over a week's time!
