painful-shoes-md-25296894.jpgNot being blessed with particularly slim feet and being an awkward half size in many shops, I have a yearly battle with summer footwear. Every spring I raid the shops for cute sandals, only to remember when it's too late that almost any style that touches the skin completely destroys my feet (the one notable exception to this depressing rule has been my Swedish Hasbeens).

Some years, I've admitted defeat early on, and resigned myself to wearing comfy shoes all summer. But other years (and 2011 is shaping up to be one of them) I've gritted my teeth and my determination to wear the styles I love has eventually paid off - but only after weeks of painful blistering.

I don't need to go into too much detail, as we all know how the process works: rubbing, redness, blood and gore then toughened skin that can take anything!

So how do you feel about braving blisters for a stylish summer. Yay or nay?
