Burberry Prorsum is always an eagerly awaited affair, so we were excited to see the pictures roll in from this exclusive LFW show. As is often the case, Christopher Bailey had gone for a rather more wintry look for S/S 12 than many of his contemporaries, but judging by the summer we've just had, the British designer may have had good reason to major in rain macs, overcoats and bobble hats. The colouring, too, was almost autumnal, with plenty of russet browns and mustard yellows.

The shoes, however, were still firmly rooted in summer styling, all having at least a peep-toe, and many being completely open-sided sandals. All based around the wedge silhouette, there was dyed raffia detailing, swishing loose-fit beads in bold colours and tie-back ankle boots. All of the styles worked well with the mid-length skirts that featured heavily, and added a seasonal twist to the trench coats.
