After the star-spangled delights of their last footwear collection, we couldn't wait to see what Dolce & Gabbana had in store for us in their S/S 12 catwalk show. This season's offering was an intriguing mix of opulent spun-gold glamour and minimalism, with some real visual treats to discover in the mix.

Ankle socks have featured in many designers' collections this season, and D&G contributed to the trend with some interesting mesh popsocks that created a fishnet effect underneath the models' more girlish shoes:


Mary Janes were a popular silhouette, with the sort of ladylike Manolo-esque shoes we've seen elsewhere appearing here, too. This primness was tempered by fetishy black lace and deep red boudoir-chic velvet, that moved the show towards its eveningwear focused conclusion:
