Erdem Spring/Summer 12 Runway Footwear
We've all heard that pointed court shoes are making a major come-back, but unsatisfied with leaving it at that, Erdem re-worked the look using unusual materials like clear perspex, lace and printed fabric to breathe life into the look. His spring/summer catwalk collection was bursting with flowers, and the footwear reflected that botanical theme.
Spiky heels and thick ankle straps completed the look, which looked a little bit 'Manolo Blahnik meets Liberty' in places. We loved the way the floral patterns seemed to glow through the designs, particularly in the darker styles:
The cornflower blue motif ran through the whole collection, making it highly appropriate for spring. Setting the pattern lower down on the toe using clear perspex added an interesting lengthening effect that also picked up on the collection's leaning towards sheer materials.
