Basso&Brooke.jpgWe've talked a lot about the footwear outside the shows at London Fashion Week, but let's not forget that there has been some quite stunning footwear on display on the catwalk itself, and we've been suitably impressed by how (so far!) the models have succeeded in making it to the end and back without toppling in any of the lofty creations - particularly in the crazy conceptual footwear on display yesterday at Basso & Brooke. Just get a load of those platforms!

bassoandbrooke.pngThe shoes themselves are by Finsk, the ultra modern footwear label by Finnish-born Julia Lundsten who has worked with Basso & Brooke on runway ranges before. The superhigh platforms have wooden soles, polished to give that high shine almost plastic-looking effect that has won the label a name all over the world. Some came in neons, like the style pictured above, while others were in more neutral tones.

We felt that the angular shoes were a fitting match for the beautiful printed garments on display at the B&B show, pictured left. There were cosmic prints, strong colours and dizzying abstraction - all combined for a stunning show, with slouchy socks completing the slightly 'geek chic' look. Models carried the iconic Cambridge Satchel for a very cool, urban edge.

This was a fantastic show for Basso & Brooke, and a very London look that we've seen reflected in the crowd all weekend.
