Paris Fashion Week has brought us the latest offerings from some exciting labels this week, including Hermes, John Galliano and Ann-Sofie Back. But it was what Cacharel showed below the knee that really got our juices going this weekend. The shoes were beautifully sculpted into shapes that were substantial yet somehow elegant at the same time - and the hosiery was something else...

As jeans have become skinnier and leggings and tights have stolen more of the fashion limelight in recent seasons we've seen some really imaginative designs in legwear and the abstract, slightly feather-like forms on Cacharel's tights are just breathtaking. They have a ghostly quality to them and the appearance of the pattern is almost like an X-ray: it reminds us more than a little of the fishcale tights by Gal Stern; one of our absolute favourite legwear champions at the moment.

There was colour in a few of the styles: we loved the choice of this apricot orange used to create amazing contrast against these sky blue platforms. Check out the skillful approach to design on those shoes, too: criss cross strips of leather create a striking effect over the suede resulting in a truly stunning shoe.
