nicholaskirkwood.pngNicholas Kirkwood never ceases to amaze us here at Shoewawa HQ, and we're particularly loving his latest collection of shoe masterpieces, which includes this highly decorative Belle Epoque style. We spotted them over on US luxe shopping site M'oda 'Operandi, where they are being sold at $1,695 (approximately £1,080) alongside several of his other amazing new styles: check out the full range here. In the Belle Epoque we're just spellbound by the beautiful embroidery, which makes up a floral pattern in shimmering greens, heather purples and blues.

The designer, loved by Sarah Jessica Parker, Christina Hendricks, Emma Stone and a host of other fabulously stylish ladies has thrown everything he's got at this design which is visually stunning from all angle. We're particularly enjoying the black enamel bow detailing, which sits daintily on the back of the heel. It's a form of what Kirkwood himself calls 'heel jewellery':

belle-epoque-shoe.pngThe heel itself is flared at the bottom with a wonderful little flash of gold and is totally spherical. The shoe is otherwise based on a very familiar Kirkwood template: the slingback bootie which formed the foundations of his iconic 'butterfly' shoes. This new style takes the look in a very different, more ornate and historically aware direction, and the attention to detail on the shimmering mesh embroidery is just breathtaking.
