Pastels are one of the easiest trends to pull off this season, as all you need to do is mix and match the colours like a style pick-and-mix with no need to worry about pattern or texture. Now the high street has fully bought in to the look it's an easy trend for those on a budget too, so today we're looking at some of the more affordable pastel and candy-coloured shoes that are out there at the moment.

The most important colours of the season are all represented here: coral, ice blue, turquoise and dusky pink. It's up to you how you mix them up, as these colours can be worn either in combination with loads of other pastels or with a neutral or linen dress just to add a spring-like pop of colour. If you're feeling particularly brave you might even want to go for 'complete colour blocking', where you layer items of the same shade in one outfit - but it's not a look that suits everybody!

In our frugal selection today, here's what we pulled off the shelves from top left, clockwise:

Suedette peep-toe heels: £16 at New Look
Katya concealed platform heeled shoes: £10 at Boohoo
Bensimon tennis lace-ups in ice blue: £24 at Sarenza
Coral pink patent pointy court shoes: £15.99 at New Look

So what are you waiting for? Now's the time to throw off the last remnants of your dark winter clothes and shoes and get fresh for spring!
