Frugal Friday: Spring colour for less lolly
We've featured loads of gorgeous bright, printed and generally eye-catching shoes for spring/summer 2012 this week, but the majority have been over the £100 mark. If you're wanting to get the look for a little less than that, there's no need to worry: the high street is lighting up like a beacon at the moment and there are plenty of ultra-affordable patterns and brights to be had. Here are just a few of our favourites.
Pictured above, this 'Lois' Ikat print wedge is available from Boohoo and is priced at only £25. It's a great basis for all the coming season's strong colours and Aztec prints, and the straps are mounted on a sturdy, stylishly-cut cork wedge that should see you through the summer. It's got all the season's key pastel tones, so will be an easy match for any on-trend pieces you might pick up along the way: I'd love to slip into these in a bikini and sarong on the beach...
Another great buy if you want to hit those high notes of colour and abstract pattern is this cute pair of peep-toe slip-on pumps from Dune's Head over Heels range. With a rounded demi heel and a cut-out front section to show off your favourite grape or banana yellow nail polish, they're a great way to make a statement this summer. Pick them up at John Lewis for just £19
