pura-lopez-shoes.pngWe've got a real double-whammy of style in today's Mary Jane Monday, which marries up two of our favourite footwear looks for 2012: heel-less shoes, and the single-strap Mary Jane - which channels the big trend for 1920s style. It's by Pura Lopez, a Mexican label stocked at Farfetch and elsewhere, and is available here for the princely sum of £259 (reduced from £345).

If you like the shoes without heels being championed by Alexander McQueen, Jeffrey Campbell et. al. at the moment then this style is sure to tickle your fancy too, as it's a new take on the style we haven't seen before. The styling is kept simple, which makes it more compatible with everyday wear and the Mary Jane strap will almost certainly make them easier to wear than some other heel-less styles - definitely a consideration when you are going to be balancing on your toes!

The rubbery sole keeps the overall look of these extraordinary shoes firmly in the realms of the casual and everyday, which we think is quite a clever feat of design in such an avant-garde silhouette, and we admire anyone who's brave enough to stride into the office wearing these with a smart suit-style outfit. It's Lady Gaga does nine to five!
