Stylistpick-accessories.jpgSubscription-only online shoe store Stylistpick has thrown out its original rulebook and introduced a 'pay as you go' method of shopping - or to put it in more normal terms, ditched the monthly fee for those who don't want it. If you see a single pair of shoes you like on Stylistpick (these Louise Roe sandals will do nicely) you can now simply order it as you would do elsewhere.

For one-off transactions of this type, the site will be offering standard £3.50 UK delivery, free returns and no need to 'skip the month' as subscription customers are required to do in order to opt out of a delivery. But Stylistpick is not axing the subscription service altogether: those who are happy with the current model will now become 'VIP subscribers', who can benefit from free next day delivery, a free gift with every order, every fifth order for free and invites to special VIP events.

It's not clear to us at this stage why a new shopping model has been introduced, but we can only assume that taking out a subscription - even one that can be cancelled at any time - is not something that enough customers want to be doing at the moment, or perhaps it simply isn't a way of shopping that us Brits are used to (the subscription model is a lot more popular for fashion shoppers in the US). The same model failed to win the hearts of UK customers over at rival Shoedazzle, which shut down earlier in the year, so perhaps Shoedazzle are simply taking sensible precautions.

Are you a Stylistpick customer and will you continue with subscription membership?
