Shoewawa Loves: Brian Atwood 'Mojito' shoes
The sun has finally come out to play and is cheering us up considerably here in London this afternoon. In fact, it's even warm enough that we can now think about pulling on our most minimal footwear and prancing about in summery styles like this creation from Brian Atwood, which is about the most fun in a shoe we've seen yet this year! Just look at the lovely jolly colours on that raffia...stunning!
The only real obstacle to wearing this sort of footwear now is the price: these beauties will set you back £995 at Net-a-Porter. But Atwood's attention to detail really comes through in this design, which really does resemble a colourful summer cocktail. They look amazing from the back, too, with a criss-cross woven pattern that really stands out. The raffia is almost like shoe jewellery as it sits so high up the back of the heel and tickles the ankles - the perfect finish to a wild summer evening look.
If you need cheering up there's nothing better than colourful footwear to give yourself a boost, and we'd love to see these worn with a lively printed sun dress for maximum impact. If, however, bumming a grand on a pair of pick-me-up shoes is a bit of a pipe-dream, there are plenty of high street names embracing this bold summer look with both hands for 2012: check out River Island in particular, where there are some stunning styles including tropical prints and geometric crazy patterns. We love these colourful studded heels - which at £65 are slightly more of a realistic option!
