pointed-shoes.pngPointed shoes were a key trend on the catwalk during London Fashion Week, with styles like these courts by Nicholas Kirkwood for Peter Pilotto taking centre stage at several of the shows. This is a look that's been creeping in for a while - with the focus on vintage and 1920s shoes in particular - but it came through strongly this season and we're now seeing that effect on the high street.

Topshop and ASOS have both responded with new styles in this week, each featuring a toe cap to emphasize the pointiness of their shoes. ASOS' 'Sidney' style, pictured top left in grey is a bit of a bargain at £45, and Topshop's Gilmore is just a little more at £60; not bad considering the latter are made from real leather where the ASOS pair are suedette. Both are available in a range of colours: we love the chic grey and the candy floss pink shown here - ideal if you want to channel the grungey monochrome look or get into ice cream colours this spring.
