Kate Middleton 2012 Shoes.jpg

Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a black tie dinner at London's Claridges Hotel, and whilst everyone on the red carpet was checking out K-Middy's gorgeous Roland Mouret dress (it was amaze - check it out here at catwalkqueen.tv), we couldn't keep our eyes off the new royal's footwear of choice.

The play-it-safe fashion icon stepped out of her usual LK Bennett courts and into an uncharacteristically dressier footwear find. Kate Middleton opted for Jimmy Choo's silver-tone 'Vamp' sandal, which features several crossover straps, an ankle strap with a gold-tone buckle fastening, a white platform and a slim stiletto heel. We think it was the perfect footwear to complete her look at last night's event. You can buy the aforementioned Choos here for £484 (totally worth it to bag some of the Duchess' style right?) and if you want them, be quick! We suspect due to Kate's appearance on the red carpet, they'll be selling out sooner rather than later.

After shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood's rant over Middleton's footwear selections to date, "She just wears too much high street stuff. I know she's trying to be democratic, but I don't know how many pairs of LK Bennett you can wear. She does occasionally come out and is wearing McQueen or something like that. It's like, 'Do that more! You're meant to be a princess-y type of person, so act like one!", we know one person that will be pleased to see her wearing the Jimmy Choo designer desirables. We think Kate has a good balance of designer and high-street when it comes to her footwear - we can't all afford £500+ on a pair of shoes so it's nice to see someone acknowledging it!
