gaultier-couture-2012.pngIt was the accessories that really made Jean Paul Gaultier's Couture Fashion Week collection great this time around: top hats, smart umbrellas and, of course, the shoes. The models had a decidedly masculine look about them throughout the show and there was a good (or at least 'interesting') reason for this: the muse for the collection was musician Pete Doherty!

Once we got our heads round that strange detail, we were able to appreciate the true merits of the collection and ogle the out-of-this-world footwear on display: very much the sort of coup-de-theatre we'd expect from the seasoned French mastermind.

The models, including Erin O'Connor pictured here in a sharp top hat and tails, were styled to perfection, with an androgynous 1920s-inspired edge complete with dark eyeliner, hairnets, dramatic corsets and blood red lips.
