River Island has become the latest high street retailer to go on sale today, and we were impressed by some of the reductions we found in the shoe department. Many of the summer's hottest styles have been included, and the many items are reduced by 50% or more. That's a far more generous saving than what we've seen at many other stores this month...
With holidays now looming on the horizon and the need to buy some proper high summer shoes becoming a priority, we had a good look for shoes we could wear at the resort and on the beach. We weren't disappointed, as there's a great selection of strappy flat sandals, tall wedges and flatform espadrilles to get us in the holiday spirit. Here are our favourite pieces from the sale.

The more straps the better this summer, and we absolutely adore this daffodil coloured peep toe platform heel that's in the sale here for £25 (was £65). Made from 100% real leather, the shoes have soft uppers and look like they'd be a real treat to wear.
