Hi-top trainers have been big business for a long time, but now we're starting to see a trend for super-high top trainers that reach further up the leg, adding height to the shoe. Nike have done it with their Sky Hi Dunk (£85 at Schuh). This built-up look is a hybrid of the wedge trainer styles we've been seeing but without the 'high heeled' look that's become popular of late. Here are a few more examples of this sporty style that's 2012 through and through:

Supra is another brand that's gone in for the sky-high style recently with its Skytop trainers, a calf-skimming style that really pushes the boundaries. We love it in this uber smart cloud grey, with a flash of apricot on the sole and around the heel. It's currently available for £54.99 at Schuh (was £90) or there's an all grey version available at Spartoo. Definitely a brand to watch if you're getting into the sport luxe look.

Adidas has also reached for the stars with its recent men's and women's designs, and we hav a soft spot for this grey and pastel-coloured 'Decade hi stars' trainer which is £65 at Schuh. Give your laid back look a touch of cotton-candy chic with this super sweet shoe!
