The latest cherished addition to Ms. Shoewawa's designer closet is Stuart Weitzman's 'Backflip' bootie: an eye-catching leopard spot style from the new autumn/winter 2012 collection. A style that can be dressed up or down, this is the sort of fun all-purpose boot that every shoe lover should own. The colourful calf-hair is an effortless way to liven up everyday winter wear, and looks positively incredible worn with black jeans or leggings.

I wore this style along to London Fashion Week, and found the boots to be the perfect chic counterpoint to my otherwise all black outfit. I'm happy to report that the boots were also a dream to wear as I navigated Somerset House's cobblestones between shows: the incredibly soft leather and well balanced platform and heel ensured smooth progress, even over the bumpy ground...

The heels, which measure 3.25 inches, are metal plated, making them unusually hard-wearing as well as giving off a deep shine. The boots zip up at the side for easy on-off action.

Priced at $650, 'Backflip' is available now, either direct through Stuart Weitzman or in the more subtle chocolate colourway at Zappos. Stuart Weitzman's shoes can additionally be bought in the UK through Russell & Bromley.
