Dolce & Gabbana's Sicilian Folk S/S 2013 show: the shoes
After a series of fashion week shows awash with monochrome stripes and very little colour, Dolce & Gabbana's S/S 2013 show at Milan Fashion Week was a real treat for those who prefer a little brightness. Wild floral patterns combined with woven creations in shades of coral, green and yellow, creating a summery look that received strong critical acclaim.
Now that the more detailed images from the show are starting to come through, we're enjoying having a good look at the beautiful and intricate pieces designed for the models wearing those amazing wicker and printed creations as they walk the Milan runway.
Check out the amazing decorative wedges pictured right: some were covered in flowers and other natural forms, with traditional Sicilian mask motifs creating a 'carnival' appeal. Others had stripes and 'sun ray' patterns picking up the style of the garments.
Later on in the show, models wore flat shoes with striped patterns and all-black lace. There were wildly coloured sling-backs in the popular pointed court style and with primary-coloured edging picking up the colour theme.
Finally, a show worth getting properly excited about!
