rupert-sanderson-hydra.jpgAppearing at the New York premiere of Les Miserables in New York, the stunning lead actress Amanda Seyfried - who plays Cosette in the movie adaptation - wore a pair of equally dazzling heels by British designer Rupert Sanderson. Seyfried, 30, teamed the slick, nude patent peep-toes with an understated and sophisticated lilac dress by Marios Schwab and wore her hair in a sleek flat-ironed 90s-style back ponytail.

The shoes were a natural choice for Seyfried's simple and pared-down look: clean and smooth with just a bit of glamour suggested by the gold accents on the upper heel and toe section. It's no surprise that the universal appeal of this shoe style has cropped up in many celebrity wardrobes, including those of Lily Allen - and in a variety of finishes including multi-hued eel skin and blue denim.

Unfortunately, its appeal seems to have led to the shoe selling out everywhere - including at Rupert Sanderson's own retail site. Will we be seeing a return of the Hydra in 2013?
