High Street vs. Designer: Forever 21 does Stella McCartney
We're massive fans of Stella McCartney's latest contribution to the world of wonderful footwear: these 'holographic' faux leather heels that tap beautifully into the season's fixation with all things ethereal and shimmery. Available at Net-a-Porter, they will set you back £425, which is a little more than most of us will consider spending on a pair of occasion heels.
You can't deny that this is a beautiful pair of shoes: prettily pointed and light as a whisper, they'll add that perfect touch of polish to your pale springtime looks. But you can also get this look if you're on a tight budget, as high street haven Forever 21 has turned out something rather similar:
Looks familiar? We certainly thought there was a family resemblance here, and while the second pair is clearly made from less lovely materials (though, of course, neither is real leather) it has all the key notes: an on-trend pointed toe, slim stiletto, flat soles and of course a rainbow-shine oil slick silver effect upper. If you love the look and want to get it for less, Forever 21's version is available here for just £19.95.
