Shoes at the Golden Globes 2013: part one
Last night, while most of us in the UK were tucked up in bed, LA played host to what in fashion terms is often the most OTT and flamboyant awards season events of the calendar: the Golden Globes! While the likes of Jessica Chastain, Daniel Day-Lewis and Brits Adele, Helen Mirren and Dame Judi Dench walked away with gongs, many more celebrity guests walked in on impressive and often super-high shoes.
Here's our pick of the most memorable Golden Globes footwear...
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were as funny and as sassy as everyone expected in their hosting of the event, replacing the familiar face of Brit funnyman Ricky Gervais. They seem to have had a great night: in addition to getting to hold court throughout the evening, they also got to wear some of the best shoes!
Tina Fey, who looked super hot in a custom-made dress by L'Wren Scott wore black satin Ferragamo shoes in black satin with a hidden platform and pointed toe. Co-host Amy Poehler, known for her role in US smash Parks and Recreation amongst other things, teamed her androgynous tuxedo trouser suit with a pair of vampish Charlotte Olympia strappy platform 'Isadora sandals'. Good news for those who want to get the look: this style is currently on sale!
Next, we turn our attention to those red carpet hoggers, who counted among their number a good deal of actors, entertainers and models! And from that last category comes our very own Rosie Huntington-Whitely:
The British model went for a look that was to prove all-too predictable at the Globes: the 'Angelina leg'. Quite why so many stars with their own credentials would want to ape a look that was getting old shortly after the last event a year ago is beyond us, but in Rosie's case we can't fault her on the shoes: like her rather Gothic dress, they are Saint Laurent, and we love the thick ankle strap.

Further proof that the ghost of Angelina Jolie's leg was STILL making waves a year later was provided by Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr, who flashed a pair of as-yet unidentified gold sandals:
