As mentioned in our 2013 shoe trend report at the start of the year, high-backed court shoes with a strap that circles the ankle are among the most prominent silhouettes of the season, with some even calling the look 'the shoe style of the year'. It's being done all over the high street - but for style and value for money we particularly like Marks & Spencer's caramel patent take on the look. You'll find it in the Autograph range:

Available here at £49.50, it also comes in black and benefits from Insolia technology for more comfortable wearing. We're particular fans of this pale pink version of the shoe with its contrast piping that defines its shape even more clearly. This taps into the ladylike trends for spring/summer 2013 and would look so pretty worn with sheer, floaty fabrics.

If this high-backed look is a style you love, you'll also want to check out Kurt Geiger, whose 'Anais' shoe brings the look to day-to-day wear: its lower heel makes it perfect for work-wear and we love the rough, mock-croc effect:

Priced at £150 and available now online, Anais is already proving to be one of Kurt Geiger's most popular shoes of the season. The back rises high up the ankle, and the toe is sharply pointed to capture the look to perfection.
