FitFlops, the toning shoes that could reasonably be described as the 'flatform before the flatform' has a new range of sandals for summer 2013, and we can't help noticing that the brand has moved in more of a trend-led direction.
Fitflop BON sandal in punch pink: £90 >>
The new collection of wedge sandals includes the BON sandal, pictured above and below. Made from real leather, the shoes feature wide straps, slick patent sides and nappa uppers for comfort and style. The pink shoe has got to be my favourite, and adds a real pop of colour to casual look - worn either with socks or over bare legs.
The camel leather version of the BON sandal has more understated appeal, but will work equally well for working the hip, laid-back city look - with all the wearability and ergonoic technology on board you'd expect from a pair of Fitflops (it includes the Wobbleboard' mid sole made famous by the original toning shoes).
I'm quite a fan of this change of direction, and could certainly see myself teaming them with cropped trousers and perhaps a dinky pair of socks. A bit like clogs but with extra comfort, they tap in to that subtle Marni-esque look that's such hot news across the board in footwear just now.
