Sarah Jessica Parker at the Met Gala | Shoewawa.com

Jennifer Astin writes: This week's installment of the Pick of the Shoe Blogs is all about punk, couture, and taking risks. Sure, there's the usual round-up of pumps and flats and sandals to die for, but it's been a special week, as proven by the delicious showing of gorgeous footwear at the Met Gala. Let's take a peek, shall we?

  • Ankle strap heels are all the rage right now, and no one shows them off better than Aimee Song from Song of Style. The small gold embellishment really adds a little punk.

  • Sea of Shoes has gone back in time (all the way back to 2008, gasp!) to show us an editorial featuring some seriously punk fringe boots

  • Nothing says "punk" and "couture" like the Louboutin Pigalle spiked pointed heel, and Can Ya Heel Me? shows us some delicious ways to wear them in an assortment of candy colors.

  • The theme of the 2013 Met Gala (always my favorite fashion event in NYC) was "Punk: From Chaos to Couture" and my girl Sarah Jessica Parker pulled it off with aplomb. Just look at those thigh-high, plaid, custom Louboutins will you? I mean, LOOK AT THEM!
